Planned Site Maintenance

This maintenance impacts all customers with survey data stored in the United States or Canadian Data Centers.

We perform scheduled site maintenance as part of ongoing efforts to improve the stability of our services. During these maintenance windows, you may briefly experience limited access to the SurveyMonkey website , some of our other products, or your surveys, and people may have limited ability to take your surveys.

If you’re taking a survey: Responses are saved when you click Next or Done to submit the page. Responses on pages submitted before maintenance will be saved. Responses on pages submitted after maintenance starts will not.

Try taking the survey again after the maintenance period has ended. If you’re unable to, contact the person or company who sent you the survey—they might be able to open the survey back up to you using response editing once maintenance is complete.

When is this happening?

We've selected a date and time to minimize the impact to most businesses, as we've found this is one of the least active periods for surveys and responses.

Date Time
Saturday, December 7, 2024 Starting at 8 am PDT (4pm UTC) for approximately 4 hours

After the maintenance

If you're not able to access our site after the planned maintenance has ended:

  1. Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
  2. Restart your browser (not just the tab).

If you're still having trouble viewing the site, you may need to add our domains and IP addresses to your allow list again. If you still need help, please contact us.

What will be impacted?

How should I plan?

Since SurveyMonkey surveys might be down during this time period, we recommend you postpone sending surveys until after this window. If you have a survey that will be open during this period, you may want to let survey takers know they should check back later if they can't get to your survey.

  • Scheduled emails: Any email invitations, follow-up, thank you, or reminder emails scheduled to be sent during this time will automatically be sent after the window ends.
  • Viewing data: Since exports and analyze features may be down, you may want to export your data ahead of time if you plan to present or work with survey data during this window.

What will people trying to take a survey see?

Anyone trying to visit or submit a live survey during the maintenance window will see a message letting them know our site is down and to try back later. This includes anyone trying to submit a survey through kiosk mode.

If you've got a white label url, the messaging won't have SurveyMonkey branding.

If you have your survey embedded on a website, people will see an error message during this window and won't be able to take your survey.

Will survey responses be saved?

All responses gathered before the maintenance window will be in your account afterwards. If someone begins taking your survey before maintenance begins, only survey pages they submit before the site becomes unavailable will be saved.

Once maintenance has begun, respondents will see a message letting them know our site is down when they click the Next or Done button on a survey. If your survey collector has response editing turned on, people can visit your survey after the window to finish their response.

Will this affect my automation, app, or integration with SurveyMonkey?

Yes. SurveyMonkey APIs will not be available during this window. This will impact all public or private apps, or integrations built on our developer platform with SurveyMonkey.

If you're a developer, any requests to the API during this window will return 503 errors. If you have workflows that use an automation to create Email Invitations, SurveyMonkey won't be able to receive those messages during the maintenance.

If you're a user of one of our partner apps or integrations, you may not be able to access them or you may see an error message during this time.
